CHERAS, KUALA LUMPUR - It was a hot day, as the sun glared down on the two Boys as they took their places. One held the “weapon”, while the other tried to shield himself from the inevitable. BANG! SPLASH! Boisterous laughter filled the air as the contents of a water balloon hit its target. That’s a taste 10th KL's annual Fun Day - getting wet and having fun.

It was a carnival. A superhero themed one. Eighteen game booths scattered across the entire school, some were camouflaged so well that they were almost never found. As members both new and old combed the school for easy chances to earn skill points – the carnivals currency, others prepared to test their skills with many challenges.

Designed to welcome the wave of newcomers that accompanied the beginning of every year, this 10th KL-only event managed to live up to its namesake – fun. That was all it was. Pure enjoyment. Simple amusement. Just fun. Though there were some minor injuries, it was merry. Though the games were challenging, it was accompanied with laughter.

Some worked for snacks. Others worked for the badges that would eventually grant them to grand prize. Others still had no goal, and only played to have fun. Whichever aim they had, everyone took home something. Even those that didn't win anything had gained aching legs or arms. Maybe a headache from drinking some concoction to get a skill point or two.

In the end, it didn't really matter. As everyone gathered for a close, the smiles were still present. Though the sun burned over them, everyone chatted loudly. Only when the prizes were brought forward did a hush fall over the crowd. As the 5 winners were announced, each came forward to receive a prize: a Marvel comic book. At the end, everyone was dismissed and the event came to a silent close.
