Kuala Lumpur: Every year, the international uniformed youth movement, The Boys' Brigade (BB) will hold the BB Founder's Day to commemorate the Boys' Brigade Founder, Sir William Alexander Smith, who started the BB movement on 4th October 1883 in Glasgow, Scotland; where he devoted most of his time, becoming the Captain of the 1st Glasgow Company, the very first of many established BB companies.
This year, the 6th Kuala Lumpur Company; situated at the Holy Light Lutheran Church, Kuala Lumpur, hosted the Founder’s Day event. The event was attended by over 300 BB members from all companies of the Kuala Lumpur State, including distinguished guests and family members.
Yang Berhormat Puan Teresa Kok - Minister for Primary Industries and Member of Parliament of Seputeh constituency was the guest-of-honor. Pastor Joe Loon was the guest speaker for the event. Both guests inspected the Guard-of-Honour, accompanied by the Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner and Captains of the KL Council.
In YB Teresa’s address, she stated that the youths play an important role in building the future of the society and nation, and should constantly upgrade themselves and give of their best in everything they do.
Furthermore, this year’s highlight was the BB Special Awards Presentation which include the Junior’s Gold Award, The Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award, the President's Badge, and the Officer's Service Medal (Bronze). The recipients are as followed:

The event ended at 4.00pm and members stayed back for fellowship and catch up on the recent Pesta Beyond 2018.
